A week ago today, Luke's Grandpa Chuck passed away unexpectedly. It's been a rough week, but we are so lucky to have such good family to support each other. We just live 3 houses up the street from Grandma, so we have been walking down every day to spend time with her. The funeral was Saturday. Grandpa was a Retired Sheriff and the Sheriff's Department did a 21 gun salute and during the viewing they had the honor guard there. It was really neat to see the respect they have. They put together a video to play during the viewing of photos both old and more recent. You could see the love he had for all his wife, kids, and grandkids in the photos. He will surely be missed.I didn't know Grandpa Chuck like the rest of the grandkids, but I thought I would post a couple memories here. He was such a good Grandpa! He was so cute with all the kids. He made these really cool cars and all kinds of things out of wood. My favorites were the puzzles and toys he made for the kids. He, along with Luke and Kelli, always made sure to have a lottery ticket. Anytime Luke was going out of state on a trip, he made sure to give Luke money for a ticket and planned to share his winnings with the family if he won. I personally loved going over to visit in the evening when he had already taken his teeth out. It reminded me of my Grandpa Larry. He always made sure we had a Coke while we were there and always offered some sort of treat. We love you Grandpa!
