Bridal Shower Recipes

HERE ARE THE RECIPES FROM MY BRIDAL SHOWER HOSTED BY MY MOM AND SISTERS THAT I PROMISED TO POST. I RECOMMEND THEM ALL. THERE WASN'T ONE THAT I DIDN'T LIKE. OH, AND ASHLEY, I'M STILL WAITING FOR YOUR YUMMY CHICKEN ENCHILADA RECIPE.

Potato Soup - Great Grandma Nellie Hatch


GROUP 1
2 c. cubed potatoes
1-2 carrots (grated)
2 stalks celery (chopped or sliced)
4 bouillon cubes (chicken or beef)
1 onion (sliced or diced)
1 tsp. salt
dash pepper
1 tsp. sugar

GROUP 2
1 lb. hamburger
3/4 c. butter
3/4 c. flour
1 qt. milk or half and half

Put GROUP 1 ingredients in crock pot and cover with water. Brown hamburger in pan. Add butter and flour to make sauce. Add 1 qt. milk or half & half. Pour over vegetables.


Zucchini Cookies - Linda Jensen

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
2 c. shredded zucchini
2 cups flour plus 2 Tbls. more
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts or oatmeal

Cream together sugar and butter. Add egg and zucchini. In a separate bowl mix flour, soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt. Add to sugar and butter mixture. Add chocolate chips and nuts/oatmeal. Bake at 375 for 12-15 minutes.


Mexican Dip - Brenda Buchanan

1 small can refried beans
3 avocados (mashed)
2 tsp. lemon juice
Sprinkle of salt
16 oz. sour cream
1 packet taco seasoning
12 oz. bottle of salsa
Grated cheese
1 can olives (chopped or sliced)
1 chopped green onion (optional)
1 chopped tomato (optional)
Tortilla chips

Spread refried beans at the bottom of a casserole dish. Mix avocados, lemon juice, and salt. Spread mixture over beans. Mix sour cream and taco seasoning. Spread over avocado. Spread salsa as next layer. Cover with cheese, followed by olives, green onion, then tomato. Chill several hours. Serve with tortilla chips.


Linguine Seafood Salad - Grandma MaryAnn Hatch

1 sm. pkg. linguine
1 lb. crab meat
3 green onions (sliced with top)
1 green pepper (diced)
2 stalks celery (diced)
1 pkg. of Uncle Dan's Dressing Mix (mix according to package directions)

Mix & refrigerate Uncle Dan's Dressing Mix. Cook linguine noodles. Combine all ingredients & add dressing.


Cheesy Potatoes - Kelli Swilor

1 bag frozen hash brown potatoes (any type you like)
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1/2 c. to 3/4 c. sour cream
1 c. cheese (she prefers sharp)
Salt
Pepper
Butter

Preheat oven to 350. Thaw frozen potatoes in microwave, about 4-5 minutes. In separate bowl mix the soup, sour cream, salt & pepper. Then mix in the potatoes. Put everything in a buttered casserole dish or pan. Top with 1/2 the cheese. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Take out, mix, and put the rest of the cheese over the top and bake another 10-20 minutes. Yummy!


Easy Peanut Butter Cookies - JanaKaye Smith

1 pkg.. Betty Crocker Peanut Putter Cookies
1/2 package chocolate chips (milk chocolate or semi-sweet)

Mix and bake according to package directions - except add the chocolate chips while mixing. Enjoy!


Easy Breadsticks - Janice Nelson

1 Tbsp. yeast
1/2 c. warm water
1 Tbsp. sugar, plus 3 Tbsp. sugar
1 c. milk
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. salt
1 c. flour (plus enough to stiffen dough)
1 egg yolk
Melted butter
Parmesan cheese
Garlic salt

Dissolve yeast in warm water with 1 Tbsp. sugar. In microwaveable bowl, combine milk and butter. Heat 4 minutes on high. Add salt, 3 Tbsp. sugar and flour. Add yeast mixture and egg yolk. Add flour to stiffen dough. Knead about 10 minutes. Let rise one hour.

Divide dough into small portions. Roll each into 6-8 inch rope and place 2 inches apart. Cover with wax paper and let rise 45 minutes. (She just put all the dough in large cookie sheet and spread out and cut into desired size with pizza cutter). Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with parmesan cheese and garlic salt. Bake at 425 for about 10 minutes.


Caramel Corn Pops - Joyce Sampson

1 c. butter or margarine
1 c. light corn syrup
2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
Corn Pops

Put all ingredients into sauce pan. Cook until bubbly around edges (around 2 minutes). Remove from heat and add baking soda. This will start foaming. Put corn pops in large bowl or pan and pour caramel over. Stir until all is coated. While stirring, keep separating. Enjoy!


Pink Candied Popcorn - Joyce Sampson

GROUP 1
2 c. sugar
2/3 c. half and half
1 Tbsp. White Karo Syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1-2 drops red food coloring

1/3 c. butter or margarine
6 quarts popcorn

Cook GROUP 1 ingredients to a firm stage and then add butter or margarine. Stir to cover all popcorn.


Homemade Cookies and Cream Ice Cream - Mandy Noel
*Requires ice cream maker

2 c. milk
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups half and half
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
4 cups whipping cream
24 Oreo cookies (crushed)

Scald milk until bubbles form around edge of pan. Remove from heat. Add sugar and salt. Stir until dissolved. Stir in half and half, vanilla extract and whipping cream. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes. Pour mixture into ice cream canister and follow ice cream maker directions. Add crushed cookies into the semi hardened ice cream (after approximately 25-30 minutes). Makes 4 quarts.


Albertson's Fresh Baked Brownie Cookies - Lovell's
(narrated with the wit of Kjerstin Lovell)

Gas in car
Wallet (with money)
Albertson's nearby (optional other store variety)
Beverage of choice (optional)

Find keys while remaining patience. Grab purse on the way out the door. Hop in the car. Check gas. If enough gas, proceed to store of choice. Park and head for the bakery section of the store. Purchase cookies that will delight the tastebuds or your sugar craving. Pay for your cookies and head home to share your heavenly goodness with your family and friends. This is optional. You can sit in your car until as many are eaten as necessary.
