Sunday morning, we made sure to call and be sure the weather was ok at The Grand Canyon. I am so thankful it was! And it worked out that Sam was able to join us. Entering the park, there was a very long line of cars, I'm sure it had nothing to do with it being Memorial Weekend.
Check it out! I found my arrowhead!

We went inside The Lodge and ate at the restaurant that you can look out over the canyon. As we sat down the storm hit! It was crazy. It started as rain and turned into giant hail. We saw one kid get pelted in the head with a big one. I bet he said "Oh my hail"! Just a guess. When we got back to Kanab, we went and got the four wheeler's from Sam's parents and rode them out to the ranch. We rode up to go to Johnson Lake, but the gate was locked. Sam tried to go around another way and ended up not being able to get back up the hill he went down. Mom and I stayed on top and rode down the trail. We stopped every few minutes to make sure we could hear Sam and Mandy's four wheeler. We lost them once and then found them. They were riding through a creek and kept trying to climb the four wheeler out. We went a little ways farther and stopped again. We couldn't hear them and went up and down the trail looking. We were getting nervous. Then we thought they were probably at the bottom waiting for us, so we rode down.
Riding down, we came down a hill and over a rock and almost flipped the four wheeler. We were balanced on 2 wheels and we were both leaning as far as we could one way. Somehow, Mom pulled an awesome gymnast move and lifted her leg over my head and jumped off and pushed us back on 4 wheels. She's pretty amazing. We laughed pretty hard once it was over.
When we got to the bottom, we saw Sam's parents measuring the land they are about to build their new house on out at the ranch. They hadn't seen them, so we waited to see if they'd come out. FINALLY, we saw them. But, they disappeared again. Apparently, they went back up to the top of the trail looking for us. haha Sam's parents went and tracked them down. Then we rode up another trail on the search for an arrowhead again.

I went to the Grand Canyon in 2000 with my Gma. She lives in St. George and we went on the "back roads" to the Grand Canyon. It was crazy! We showed up to no crowds and the face of a cliff that had no railings and the wind was blowing fiercely. It was one of the most awe inspiring and breath taking views! I can't wait to go back some day! I am glad you got to go!
